Renew my Licence

Renewing Licences Online:

Most Northern Territory Driver's Licences can now be renewed online using BPAY or credit card. You can renew your licence online if:

  1. You are a resident of the Northern Territory;
  2. The Motor Vehicle Registry has your digital photograph recorded;
  3. You do not need a new photograph taken prior to your selected renewal period. A photograph is valid for 10 years from the date taken by MVR;
  4. You are not required to undergo a medical examination;
  5. You are not required to undergo a criminal history check;
  6. Your licence is not suspended or cancelled; and
  7. A Transaction Number is printed on your renewal notice or received via SMS reminder.
  8. Your mailing address details are up to date.
Contact details changed? Before you renew your licence, if your mailing address has changed you must update it with MVR.
Concession card holder? If you hold an NT Concession Scheme card, you must have it registered with MVR for a free licence renewal. Please allow 1 – 2 business days for your concession details to be recorded before requesting a licence renewal. If you have not yet registered your card, to learn more click here.
